Gep S.p.A. and Tele Sistemi Ferroviari S.p.A. (Finsiel/Ferrovie dello Stato) (www.tsf.it), strong of the mutual experience matured in the realization of electronic ticketing systems for the mobility sector (based on microchip cards), have developed an operating system for multioperative smart cards based on the most important international norms that can be used for local public transport.

MIT (Maschera Italiana per i Trasporti) is a combi-card able to communicate both with the contact than with the radiofrequency system, (developed and realized in conformity with the ISO 7816 and ISO 14443 standards) that in fact has set a standard for transport cards: thanks to the partnership with TSF, Gep won the tenders of the Local Public Transport of Varese, Trento and Pavia and has ongoing negotiations with other important companies of the sector.

Gep S.p.A. collaborates with STMicroelectronics (www.st.com) in the develope of operating systems for microchip based on the most important international norms (ISO 7816 - ISO 14443 - ICAO LDS - UHF) to contactless and dual products used in the transport and security sector. The partnership with ST represents the meeting between one of the most successful company in the world of semiconductors, and Geps know how on the embedding technology, radiofrequency, dual smart card and chip on paper applications. Gep is also one of the most quoted partner of STMicroelectronics for the RFID.

Thanks to the partnership with ACI Informatica S.p.A. (www.informatica.aci.it), (ACI group company), Gep had the opportunity to cooperate with a company that has a solid experience in the field of road network and parking solutions and always researching new and innovative products and services. ACI Informatica S.p.A. has chosen Gep as technology partner for the placing of a microprocessor into the ACI card, changing the idea of "member card" to a multiservices card that furher than allowing the access to fidelization circuits, offers a completely new way of managing the ACI services.
